MONROE – The district will have half-day sessions on Wednesday and Thursday because of excessive heat and “inconsistent air conditioning performance,” according to a letter sent on Sept. 4.

The temperature for Wednesday is expected to have a high near 90 degrees and Thursday’s high is projected at 92 degrees. Friday’s temperature should be much cooler, with a high of 78 degrees and a chance of a few thunderstorms.

Acting Superintendent Robert Goodall apologized for the “late notice and inconvenience, but we feel in the best interest of our students and staff this is a necessary plan of action.”

Goodall said the district will return to a full schedule on Friday.
