SOUTH PLAINFIELD – A 28-year-old woman was killed on July 4 in a motorcycle accident when she was ejected from the bike after the driver lost control, according to a joint release from the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office and South Plainfield police.

The victim was taken to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick where she eventually died from the injuries she sustained, the statement said.

The driver, 30-year-old Piscataway resident Ruddy Custidio was taken to JKF Medical Center in Edison for minor injuries. Custidio has been issued summonses for driving while intoxicated pending further investigation, according to the statement.

A preliminary report filed alleges that while driving on New Brunswick Avenue near Carlton Way, Custido lost control of his 2016 BMW motorcycle. The unnamed passenger was ejected “and suffered catastrophic injuries.”

The accident remains under investigation by South Plainfield Lt. David DeLair and Prosecutor’s Office Det. Donald Heck.

Anyone with information is asked to call DeLair at 908-755-0700 or Heck at 732-745-8842.
