JAMESBURG – Local police arrested two Jamesburg brothers on Aug. 15 in connection to multiple drug-related allegations.
Cesar Ortiz, 22, and Frank Barbosa, 18, were arrested after several months of a joint narcotics investigation by the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office and the Jamesburg Police Department, according to a statement from the two agencies.
On Aug. 15, officers conducted a search of the brothers’ Pergola Avenue home where they allegedly seized approximately 50 bricks of heroin, which police said was more than 2,000 individual dosage units, cash totaling $872 and a scale and grinder they say are both used to produce and distribute drugs.
Police charged Ortiz with third-degree heroin possession, second-degree attempt to distribute and two counts of possession with intent to distribute near public property.

In those cases, according to police, Ortiz was charged with resisting arrest, unlawful possession of a handgun, unlawful receipt of handgun ammunition, possession of a controlled and dangerous substance identified as cocaine, possession of a controlled and dangerous substance with intent to distribute, possession of a controlled and dangerous substance with intent to distribute near school property, tampering, and obstruction.
Barbosa was charged with a disorderly person’s offense for possession of marijuana in the Aug. 15 case.
