JAMESBURG – If you’re looking for some grub from a food truck, then you might want to check out what’s being served up in Jamesburg on Thursday night.
The borough will hold another round of its annual Food Truck Night from 5-9 p.m. at the Jamesburg Fire Department, 82 West Railroad Ave. on Aug. 23. It is the second of two Food Truck Night events held each year.
The event will feature approximately eight food trucks “with all types of food including empanadas, gourmet grilled cheese, hot dogs, cheesesteaks, Mexican food, BBQ, oriental cuisine, shaved ice and also a cupcake truck,” said Councilwoman Sam Rampacek, chair of the Public Events Committee, which organizes the night, as well as other community-wide activities.
The event is free to attend and open to all, but those wishing to try the food trucks’ tasty specialties will have to bring their wallets.
To help wash down an empanada or two (or three), Fire Department members will be selling drinks and also some snacks. The Jamesburg library will also have a bake sale.
“We love doing this event to create an environment where families and community members of all ages can come out and have an enjoyable night with their neighbors and friends,” said Rampacek, “as well as potentially meet new people from the surrounding area.”
The event will also feature music from a DJ and for those car enthusiasts, there will be a cruise night. Anyone can participate in the cruise night by parking their car along the street in the designated parking area.
“It is a great event for all types of people and families,” said Rampacek.
